Zirconium Based Bulk Metallic Glasses. Part 4

Promising industrial applications of these new glasses, exploiting their outstanding properties, are presented in this paper. Applications are: Defence (KEP ammunitions) and space industries, luxury products (jewellery, watches), electronic casings (for mobile phones and PC), sporting goods (tennis rackets, golf clubs baseball bats) as well as cutting tools (knives, surgical blades). Some present research topics (new compositions, light alloys, composites, coatings) aiming at reducing production cost, optimising the properties and/or diversifying the applications of bulk metallic glasses are mentioned.
