Using Platinum Electrodes In Glass Tanks

Although molybdenum is by far the most commonly used electrode material for glass furnaces with electric boosting, for special tanks where glass is melted together with refining agents and colouring oxides (causing damage to the molybdenum), platinum electrodes are the preferred alternative.
