Use Of Alkoxides In The Preparation Of Low-Expansion Reconstructed Ti02-Sio2 Glasses

Reconstructed TiO2-SiO2 glasses are prepared by impregnating porous glass with solutions containing titanium tetra-isopropoxide, converting the alkoxide in the pores to titania, consolidating the porous structure. Water permeation studies of alkoxide-impregnated porous glass are also carried out.
