Three Quarters Of European Households Prefer Glass Packaging

According to a survey of 6200 European households carried out in Autumn 2008, three-quarters of EU consumers say glass is their preferred packaging material for food and beverages. The large scale survey was carried out across 12 EU countries by FEVE, the EU Container Glass Federation, and is believed to be one of the most comprehensive ever conducted within the packaging industry. Europeans find glass the most recyclable and environmentally-friendly packaging material and they prefer it because it preserves taste and protects against contamination. This is an important affirmation that consumers see glass as the packaging which, more than others, adds value to a product.
