Thermal History Of A Low Alkali Borosilicate Glass Probed By Infrared And Raman Spectroscopy

Infrared and Raman spectroscopies were employed to investigate the influence of the thermal history on the structure of a low alkali borosilicate glass (NBS2) with the composition: 0.74SiO2; 0.21B2O3; 0.04 Na2O; 0.01 Al203. This glass is a model for technical glasses such as Duran and Borofloat with similar low thermal expansion coefficients and high resistance to thermal shock.
