Italian glass container manufacturer Saint-Gobain Vetri, recently took delivery of an AGR Dimensional Sampling Gauge (DSG) for use in its facility in Dego, Italy. At the facility, previous to the addition of the DSG, dimensional measurements on bottles and jars were performed by technicians physically measuring each container and using a variety of gauges for each specific measurement. This work was tedious, time-consuming and limited to the number of sample containers that could be evaluated in a given time. To try to maintain the highest quality standards in the most productive manner, SG Vetri sought help to streamline the way in which the plant performed critical dimensional measurements on its containers. This article explains why the DSG was chosen, and how the equipment performed.
