Spectroscoptic Properties Of Er3+ And Tm3+ In Tellurite Glasses

The lifetimes of the 1.55um emission of Er3+ were determined in sodium tellurite, barium tellurite and tellurium oxide as a glass. An assessment is made of the effect on the 1.55um radiative lifetime and the Judd-Ofelt parameters of Er3+ with the change in both Na20 and Er203 concentrations. With the increase in Er203 concentration there is a decrease in the radiative lifetime which is reflected in the Judd-Ofelt parameters. The lifetimes of the 1.8um emission of Tm3+ were investigated in sodium tellurite glasses.
