Significant yield and safety improvements can be realised with smart temperature sensors, according to the author of this article. By isolating critical data from a stream of rapidly varying measurements, pack-to-melt ratio improvements over 2% have been documented, while a critical indicator of safety in glassfibre production can now be monitored.
