Reverse Combustion In Gas-Fired Glass Furnace Operations

In a series of heat balance calculations for a large glass operation, based on transferring about 40% of the energy in the flue gas to batch preheat of the feed materials, with the remainder being used for combustion air preheat by recuperator instead of by regenerator, it has been shown that energy savings of about 30% can be obtained.
