Repairing Glass Furnace Lining

FIB Services is active in furnace refractory repairs and maintenance. Its Reactive Projection for Repair (RPR) process and technology gives excellent long-life repair - furnace downtime is minimised or the furnace can even be kept running during the repair. The RPR process allows the repair of a glass furnace at service temperature. It consists of the projection, through a lance, of a reactive mixture onto the hot degraded surface to form a new monolithic lining. The mixture contains a main refractory phase, additives and metal particles; this undergoes an exothermal reaction forming a ceramic bond for both the refractory grains of the mixture and the initial surface to be repaired.
