Recent Excavations At An Ancient Egyptian Glassworks: Tell El-Amarna 1993

New excavations at Tell el-Amarna, where Flinders Petrie discovered over a century ago the first evidence of Egyptian glass manufacture, have qualified and extended his findings. Glass, pottery and faience were made in very close proximity, the glass probably being melted into ingots in cylindrical vessels.
