Realising Design Freedom And Efficiencies With Smart Solutions And Optimised Design

Architecture has been defined as the combination of art and engineering. Firmness, Quality and Delight, as put forward by Vitruvius around 2000 years ago. These ideas have been celebrated by IGS at the Glass Supper on previous occasions with "Delight" being the theme behind the 2015 event at the Sky Garden in London. In this article, the author gives examples of specifically designed and innovatively applied facade technologies, which raise the need for material related expert groups with a strong know-how on the use, current and future needs, and understanding of the design process.
