The gradual acceptance of UV-based inks for the decoration of glass is based largely on the fact that meeting environmental regulations for inorganic ceramic inks is problematic. Since UV-based inks are more environmentally friendly, they now account for a greater share of the market. However, this means that more attention must be paid to the differences between ink systems, both in terms of usage and performance. In this article, the author considers print inspection and quality control in the decoration process from a printer's and ink manufacturer's perspective.
