Pusher Finger Parts Are Designed For Durability

Emhart Glass, global IS machine manufacturer, now uses DuPont Vespel SCP-5050 parts for thermal insulation, replacing the standard carbon graphite components used in the liners for pusher fingers. This change is aimed at reducing maintenance costs for users, as well as minimising reject rates. The pusher fingers are used to move up to four moulded glass containers, at temperatures of up to 600 deg C, from the dead-plate to the conveyor belt in less than a second. The bar-shaped liners, which are inserted within the pusher fingers, transfer the high acceleration forces involved in this process to the glass surface. Pusher fingers are put under pressure to perform at high speeds and even higher temperatures. DuPont have introduced a range of parts designed to help reduce maintenance costs and minimise rejection rates of glass containers. For more information, please visit: www.vespel.dupont.com
