Oxy-Fuel Furnace Design Considerations

Standardization of oxy-fuel furnace design principles is a difficult task as there is a wide variety of glass furnace configurations and operating conditions. Air Liquide's basic engineering approaches and design considerations for the conversion of a glass furnace to oxy-fuel, which have been developed through conversion experience and with the use of state-of-the-art analytical tools, are described in this paper.
