Optical Properties Of Glasses Containing Copper Oxide Particles

Particles of cuprous oxide with 20nm sizes have been precipitated from borosilicate glasses. The absorption spectra show distinct changes in glasses given different heat treatments. Only very weak nonlinear effects are observed.
