New Developments For High Quality Container Forming

Even though the Individual Section (IS) machine is already the most efficient and productive machine for glass container production world-wide, Emhart Glass has spent a lot of effort and expertise to further enhance its performance. For a systematic investigation, Emhart conducted and analyzed a series of high speed video measurements of various high capacity container lines. Thus, it was possible to set up optimum specifications for the section mechanisms with regard to speed and timing. Likewise, clamping force measurements and glass forming simulations have been made in order to better understand the glass forming process itself and thus derive specifications for clamping and pressing in P&B and NNPB.
