Molybdenum/Fused Cast Azs Material For Critical Areas In Glass Melting Tanks

Fused cast AZS materials have been used in glass melting tanks since 1928. A significant further development of these refractories was the establishment of oxidized fused cast AZS refractories in the 1960s. Fused cast AZS refractories have been continously further developed and generally have good corrosion resistance and low glass defect potential. Modern glassmaking process requirements demand greater performance of the materials for glass furnace construction. Today process temperatures are higher, melting rate capacities are increasing, glass quality requirements are greater, and longer furnace service life is expected. To solve the problems with chromic oxides a new fused cast AZS/molybdenum compound material has been developed.
