Modelling Of Chemical And Morphological Changes Of Silicate Fibres Used In A Portland Cement Matrix

Basalt and glass wool materials have been eluated continuously in saturated lime water and in NaOH solution at 70 degrees C. The alkali resistance of the fibres was investigated with particular reference to the chemical composition of the fibres and the nature of the reaction products formed on the fibre surface.
