Matching Mould Cooling Strategies To The Blank Side Forming Process

In the glass container industry, two processes of forming small finished containers currently dominate: the NNPB (Narrow Neck Press & Blow) and the B&B (Blow & Blow) forming processes. In this study, computational techniques are used to virtually form the same container by both these processes. Heat removal requirements and IS machine timings were evaluated to determine the best cooling strategy.
