Liquid Nitrogen Provides Shear Cooling Solution

An alternative to the conventional method of cooling shear blades has been developed by Aga, AB. According to Rudiger Eichler, results show that emulsion usage can be reduced to about 50 litres/day at a nitrogen consumption of 40nm3/h. Continuous operation since early 1993 has indicated increased pack rate, a reduced number of cutting marks and enhanced average shear life.
