This article looks at the low-temperature reactions taking place in the mixture of raw materials (batch and cullet) after their inlet into the glass melting furnace. It has been assumed that, in the first melting stage, there are some batch components that react earlier and at lower temperatures with the cullet. The retarding effect of the silicates formed in this advanced stage on the kinetics of the sand dissolution is compensated by the influence on the intensification measures, i.e by increasing melting temperatures in general.
