Improvement On The Construction Of A Float Glass Tank Furnace By Phsical Modeling

The temperature distributions, velocity fields, and the glass current of a tank furnace were investigated by means of physical modeling. Some measures to improve the design of the conditioning zone of a float glass tank are proposed. They are satisfactory both for the melting process and for saving energy.
