High Zirconia Fused Cast Refractories Improve Glass Melting

Incremental developments, or "product renewals" of fused-cast refractory products have resulted in better performing glass melting refractories and account for longer service life of existing products. Over the past 30 years, changes in fused-cast refractory products have evolved with constant improvements to exising and established product lines. One such product is High Zirconia Fused Cast, or HZFC, introduced within the last 20 years by the manufacturers of fused cast refractories for the glass industry. They contain around 94% zirconia and 6% as a glassy phase.
