High Added Value Glass Products Through Wet Chemcial Coating Techniques

The modification of glass surfaces by applying thin films of inorganic oxides is an attractive means to change the physical and chemical properties of the substrate and create new business opportunities for glass manufacturers. Besides the well-established atmospheric pressure CVD and vacuum based large-scale coating facilities, sol-gel processing is still an attractive and economic alternative for smaller and medium-size substrate dimensions as well as for special market segments due to its simple application via dip coating, spin coating or spraying procedures.
