[Forming] Latest Developments In The Manufacture Of Jugs

This article looks at the advances in production processes for the forming of jugs and household wares. Jugs have been produced for many years by manual and semiautomatic processes; nowadays these technologies are limited in use, mainly in Western countries, to high quality products which have a high value to justify higher production costs. Over the years, automatic jug forming processes have been developed, with the most popular being performed by IS machines and, where the object's design allows it, by presses. Both processes, however, have significant limitations as far as the design of the item is concerned, and the quality of ware produced by IS machines is not of the highest level.
