Flameless Oxidation - A Cleaner High Temperature Combustion

This paper reports on a Flameless Oxidation (FLOX) combustion technology recently developed within the EC THERMIE programme. The project ws carried out by three European partners: Centro Sviluppo Materiali (R&D), Accai Speciali Terni (end user) and WS Warmprozessteknik (burner manufacturer). The technology was successfully applied in an annealing furnace of a continuous annealing and pickling line for stainless steel strips.
