This paper presents the results of some of the first industrial references obtained for ALGLASS SUN burner, the latest technology developed by Air Liquide for large glass furnaces. This combustion system relies on a large separation of the fuel and oxidant streams and on the adjustable distribution of the oxidant in 3 various injections. After having demonstrated in Air Liquide's pilot furnace the minimisation of NOx emissions with such a technology and its flexibility regarding the control of flame length and heat transfer, the authors confirmed these advantages through two first industrial references: an oxy boosting in a regenerative air firing furnace producing figured glass, and a new full oxy firing furnace manufacturing borosilicate glass.
