Fancy Stones - An Unconventional Way To New Decorative Glass Crystalline Materials

This article describes the results of efforts aimed at producing novel decorative glass-crystalline materials by using advanced technologies. The materials are produced from natural raw materials and industrial wastes. Experimental results were exhibited at the XV and XVI International Congress on Glass in St. Petersburg and Madrid in 1989 and 1992. By using unconventional raw materials and various industrial wastes, a wide spectre of new ornamental materials ranging from multicoloured and transparent glass-crystalline pieces to those completely crystallized, having the properties of natural rock.
