A Fair Exchange

Residents of the small town of Fensmark (pop 4,200) in the centre of the east Danish island of Zealand, have more than one reason to feel proud of their largest employer, Ardagh Glass. In addition to providing jobs and creating wealth for its local community, Ardagh's Holmegaard plant, which produces 160,000/tpa container glass, is contributing to reduced price heating for more than 1000 local homes. This article describes the process, and how the project forms part of Ardagh's ongoing sustainability programme.
