Exploring Plasma Arc Melting Potential

One of the core projects being undertaken by the Research Group at British Glass involves the development of a rapid continous melting process, using the electrical conductivity of molten glass. Partly funded by the UK government, the project is now in its fourth year and the present phase of the project is aimed at increasing the capacity of the furnace to 100kg/h and to design a small-scale continuous commercial melter.
