Over the last 12 to 18 months, the European glass manufacturers neither had particular reasons to rejoice, nor have they been globally struck with misfortune. The regular overall growth rate - which had been interrupted by a two point slump in 1992-3, immediately compensated in 1993-4, has continued with a 1994-5 increase of production values 2.7% to a total of 25.67m tonnes.
