Effect Of Grain Size On The Crystallization Kinetics Of Copper Vandate Glasses

The crystallization kinetics of V25.Ba0.Zn0 glasses were studied using DTA technique as a function of particle size of the glass powder. The order of the crystallization reaction was obtained by using Ozawa's method. Using this method indicated that the Avrami coefficient equals three for particles less than 125um in size and equals two for other particle sizes. It means that the crystallization process could be changed from bulk to surface as the particle size increased. The activation energy for crystallization was calculated by using six different methods.
