Dynamic Expert Systems In Glass

A closed-loop expert system has been commissioned and has proven to be robust and effective in dealing with job changes. The principles behind the system are outlined in this paper. The system has been implemented at a container plant and has consistently maintained high efficiency, and reduced transition time, during job changes. The system is based on a novel hybrid technique of conventional multivariable control, neural networks and fuzzy logic control.
