Development Of Low-Loss Optical Components Made By Ion-Exchange In Glass

The development of ingrating optical circuits in glass, using conventional photolithography and modified ion-exchange techiques, is reviewed. Results of tests indicate that the process is controllable and able to produce low loss components with good insulation properties and control of power splitting ratios.
