This article looks at the fundamental principles involved in mould design. It covers problems that can arise during test studies, choosing in advance the most opportune solutions, and considers the possibility of changing the shape of the finished article and when possible, changing the thickness of the material of the mould so as to decrease and reduce the defects caused by planning inconsistencies.
