Compliance With Eec Directive 89/392 On Machinery

From 1 January 1995 all machinery to be placed on markets of the European Community will have to comply with EEC Directive 89/392. This timely article comments on the Directive and compares it with the direct experience of a machinery manufacturer in complying with it. Although the legislation involved is a directive of the EEC, its unconditional acceptance by major manufacturing countries such as the USA and Japan has given it a truly inter-continental application.
