Clear Glass Colourlessness Monitoring To Correlate Glass Redox With Furnace Melting Conditions

This paper examines the need to control and fix tolerances for glass colour or colourlessness to define glass quality specifications. Glass colour control is a useful aid for the glass melting process, considering that glass colour is related to the oxidation or reduction state (redox) of the glass melting process. How to obtain an objective measure independent from the subjective visual evaluation is reported?
