Cutting airborne pollution and improving energy efficiency are two immediate concerns for furnace operators. In March 1995, tests began at Irish Glass Bottle Co on a combined electrostatic filter/cullet preheater which addresses both of these problems. This paper explains how the installation works and presents the results achieved so far.
