Characterization Of Silicate Glass Surfaces

Surface modifications, such as sterilization procedures, cleaning and polishing affect how a material behaves when exposed to a specific environment. Contact angle analysis indicates changes in surface energy with surface treatment. Chemical durability studies are performed on a set of silicate glasses to determine the nature species present when exposed to a 37 deg C aqueous environment.
