Calculation Method Of Failure Prediction For Thermal Tempered Glass

A calculation method of failure predication for thermal tempered glasses has been developed based upon fracture mechanics and the distribution of stress in the glass which provides the theoretical foundation for the strength check of the thermal tempered glass. Comparison of the calculation methods for both annealed and thermal tempered glasses shows that it is not suitable to apply the calculation method of annealed glass in the failure prediction of thermal tempered glass and the method established in this paper should be adopted in this case.
