Borates For The European Glass Industry

Boric oxide is an important constituent of a wide range of glasses: glass wool, textile fibres for the reinforcement of plastics, optical glass and a diverse range for technical borosilicate glasses for lighting, laboratory, cookware, medical and LCD screens. This article highlights the role of borates, and the Borax Group of companies, in the glass industry.
