British Glass and Amazelab to host creative workshop for LimbBo Foundation families
British Glass, in collaboration with Amazelab and local artists, will be providing a free workshop for LimbBo Foundation families at the picturesque Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
This exciting event taking place on Saturday 15 March is designed to offer a fun, creative, and multisensory experience for children with limb differences and their families.
The LimbBo Foundation is a Yorkshire-based charity dedicated to supporting children across the country who have a limb difference. The upcoming workshop promises to be an inspiring event, focusing on experimental, materials-driven art, perfectly aligning with the British Science Week theme: "Adapt and Change."
Victoria Adams, Communications Manager at British Glass said “Children attending the workshop will have the opportunity to lead their own creative journey through a variety of engaging activities that inspire curiosity and joy. The workshop will employ a multisensory approach, allowing participants to experience art through touch, sound, and sight.”
Engaging with Art and Science
In addition to creating their own unique pieces of art, families will have the chance to engage with the current exhibition, Alchemies by Bharti Kher. This interaction provides the link between art, science and the theme adapt and change.
The workshop will be supported by artists Puy Soden and Nat Bellingham, who are affiliated with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Amazelab, an award-winning provider of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths) education, is thrilled to be part of this initiative. Leonie Briggs, Director at Amazelab, shared her enthusiasm: "We are incredibly excited to again collaborate with British Glass and the LimbBo Foundation to bring this innovative workshop to life. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to explore the connection between art and science in a meaningful and engaging way."
Victoria added “This partnership between British Glass, Amazelab, and the LimbBo Foundation highlights a commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and education. The workshop will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the families involved, offering them a chance to experience art and science and learn about glass in a fun, accessible environment.”
The event is supported by British Glass members and subsidiary Glass Technology Services who have provided glass materials for the workshops.
