Yamamura Glass - Mini-Pet Bottle Plant Project

Yamamura Glass is involved in a 500ml mini-PET bottle business with Mitsubishi Plastics. A new plant exclusively for mini-bottles will come on-line around May 1997 with an output of 100m PET bottles. Of the 2bn Yen investment in the project, Mitsubishi Resin will provide 1bn Yen towards the manufacturing line, with the rest to be assumed by Yamamura. Since last March, when regulations were lifted on mini-bottles, demand has soard and approximately 500m bottles are projected to have been shipped out during 1996.
