Would-Be Buyers Inspect Ibc

International Bottle Company, or Hertford, has gone into administration and there have been more than 50 enquires from prospective purchasers. Mark Wilson, of accountancy firm Baker Tilly, said the plastic and glass container supplier had debts in excess of £3M. It had been loss making for a few years and the directors "Could not see a return to profitability as presently structured", Wilson told Packaging Magazine. Strong interest in IBC was because it has a good name in the industry, he added. A sale could be completed by mid-July. Of IBC's 55 employees, 25 have been made redundant and chairman Colin Hooker has left the company.
