SA Brain & Co has joined forces with recycle-more-glass to recycle bottles from more than 150 pubs in the South Wales area. The company's commitment is a major coup for the glass recycling service, which also provides a collection service to over 2000 other pubs, clubs, restaurants, casinos and hotels in the UK. Each year, UK consumers drink enough wine, beer and spirits for the bottles to stretch from Birmingham to London if they were laid end-to-end. In the first six weeks of the service 130 tonnes of glass have been collected in Cardiff alone by recycle-more-glass's partner, Severnside Recycling. Until the launch of the service, most of the waste bottles were simply thrown away with genre al waste. The service has proved extremely popular as it allows busy bar staff to throw green, brown and clear glass into one bin without separation.
