Vinap To Build Glass Plant In Russia

According to a press report, a new company will be established between VINAP, a major Russian alcohol and soft beverage producer, its foreign partner and the regional administration. The opening phase of the project is assessed at US$50m. The first section of the plant, scheduled for completion in two years, will have a design capacity of 150m bottles/year, an amount sufficient to fully meet demand from VINAP. In the long term, the enterprise plans to give up recyclable bottles, whose share now stands at about 65%. The remaining output from the new plant will be delivered to other enterprises in the region. Only 15% of the demand for glass bottles at Siberian enterprises, now estimated at around 1bn/year, is being satisfied by local glass bottle plants. (whole item)
