Vilesa - Results Up In 1998

Spanish glassmaker Vidriera Leonesa (Vilesa) made a net profit of Ptas 1,061m in 1998, 10.6% up on the previous year. Sales grew by 4.7% to Ptas 7,467m. Last year Vilesa had record figures for production and sales by volume: 134,766 tonnes (up 0.6%) and 141,225 tonnes (up 7%) respectively. Financial costs for the firm were Ptas 277m last year, down on the Ptas 361m in 1997.
