[Vietnam] New Glass Plant

The Vietnam News Agency reported that authorities in central Thua Thien-Hue province have licensed Nanasili Co. Ltd. to build a 20,000/tpa glass plant at Phong Dien Sand Processing Industrial Complex. The quartz sand deposit in the area covers 42sq kilometers with estimated reserves of over 41M cubic meters. Phong Dien district has set up a sand processing industrial complex on an area of 1,000 hectares of land to attract investment. Earlier, Thua Thien-Hue licensed Hue Frit Glaze Joint Stock Company to exploit white sand in Phong Dien district to supply Phu Bai Frit Glaze Factory, which has a capacity of 40,000/tpa.
