[Vietnam] Furnace Fired Up

Vietnam Glass Industries Ltd (VGI) has fired up a new 30-hectare glass furnace in MyXuan A Industrial Park in southern Ba Ria Vung Tau Province, preparing for the first batch of glass products at the end of June/08. The glass factory, which has total investment capital of around US$96.2M, has production capacity of 500/tpd and will begin operation after half a month for warming up, said Mr Y Morita, General Director of VGI in a press statement. VGI is a subsidiary of Japanese-based Nippon Sheet Glass Group. The glass factory is the 51st by the Japanese Group worldwide and the second factory in Vietnam by the group. (whole item)
